As we did last year, we will be gathering at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. Our dates will be Thursday June 28 & Friday June 29, 2018. All costs, including meals and one night of lodging at Bowdoin College, are covered for all participants. Mileage costs are also covered for MARTLs.

This will be an opportunity for principals and their school’s MARTL to work together to learn, and then design and plan implementation of creatively effective models that will leverage their school’s Apple technology. These implementations will create improved student learning experiences for all students, and support the creation of compelling evidence of student thinking and proficiencies.

Our 2 years of working with MARTLs from across Maine has been an exciting time – the energy and enthusiasm of the group has paid off with rich learning and sharing amongst the group, and many ideas being brought back to schools for sharing.

Again, participants will be asked to arrive to the event with a locally defined goal – a specific project that will benefit their unique  school community. That locally defined goal will provide their focus for the two days – allowing participants to be sure that the time devoted to the work will be of real value to their school community.

Day 1 (Thursday June 28) will be a day focused on learning and planning – with skills-based & project-based workshops being offered by experts in technology, curriculum, pedagogy, and leadership. Resources will come from within Maine and from across the country. Apple Professional Learning Specialists, MARTLs, and Apple Distinguished Educators will all serve as resources, providing a wide range of opportunities for learning.

Day 2 (Friday June 29) will be a day of continued collaboration with a focus on planning and ongoing learning. With new skills in place, it will be time to design how these capabilities will be shared and encouraged within the local school community in support of the locally defined goals.
